Fed Officials and Economists Discuss FinTech Opportunities on February 6

SAN DIEGO –

What: Payment Systems in the Internet Age

The Global Interdependence Center (GIC) will host an afternoon program on financial technology in San Diego on February 6, 2017. Payment Systems in the Internet Age will feature officials from the Federal Reserve Banks, including Patrick Harker, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, as well as experts with extensive backgrounds in digital currencies, monetary policy, and the security and regulatory realities of digital transactions. Speakers will discuss topics such as “Central Banking in the Digital Age: What is Money?” and “Bitcoins, Distributed Ledgers and the Payment System: Opportunities and Challenges.”
