Peter J. Tanous

President and a director of Lynx Investment Advisory, LLC of Washington D.C., a SEC registered investment advisory firm. In prior years, Mr. Tanous was first vice president and international regional director with Smith Barney and a member of the executive committee of Smith Barney International, Inc. He served for ten years as executive vice president and a director of Bank Audi (USA) in New York, and was earlier chairman of Petra Capital Corporation in New York.

A graduate of Georgetown University, Peter Tanous has served as a member of the board of advisors of Georgetown’s College of Arts and Sciences and is a member of the Georgetown University Library Board. A long time resident of New York City prior to moving to Washington D.C., Mr. Tanous served as a trustee of the Browning School, a private school in Manhattan. Tanous attended high school at The American School of Paris, France, where his parents resided for a number of years. He is fluent in French.

Mr. Tanous’ book, Investment Gurus, published by Prentice Hall in 1997, received wide critical acclaim in financial circles and was chosen as a main selection of The Money Book Club. His subsequent book, The Wealth Equation, was also chosen as a Money Book Club main selection. His latest book, Investment Visionaries, was published in August 2003 by Penguin Putnam.

Peter Tanous served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963, rising to the rank of first lieutenant.

In 1983, Mr. Tanous was appointed by the secretary of the treasury to the Business Dialog of the U.S. – Saudi Arabian Joint Economic Commission.

Among his other activities, Peter Tanous serves on several corporate boards. These include:

MPS Group, Inc., one of the larger companies in the U.S. in the field of professional staffing. Tanous is chairman of the Audit Committee of the board. The company’s stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Worldcare Ltd., Cambridge, Massachusetts, a company in the field of health care services and telemedicine diagnostics.

In 1991, Mr. Tanous was the recipient of the American Task Force for Lebanon Philip C. Habib Award for Distinguished Public Service. He was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 1994. In 2002, Mr. Tanous was decorated by the Republic of Lebanon with the country’s National Order of the Cedar.
