Mary C. Suiter

Assistant Vice President and Economic Education Officer, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis

Mary Suiter is assistant vice president and economic education officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, where she has been responsible for developing online programming, videos, lesson plans and whiteboard applications for classroom use.

Currently, the St. Louis Fed offers more than 200 of her team’s economics and personal finance resources. In 2014, 540,000 enrollments in online courses and videos and more than 334,500 downloads of lessons and whiteboard applications.

Suiter received her B.S. in economics from the University of Missouri–St. Louis, her M.S. in economic education from the University of Delaware, and her Ph.D. in teaching and learning from the University of Missouri–St. Louis. In 2013, she received the University of Delaware Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics Alumni Association Alumni Award of Excellence.

She is past president of the National Association of Economic Educators and a recipient of its Bessie B. Moore Service Award in 1996 and its Patricia K. Elder International Award in 2010.

Prior to joining the Fed, she was director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Education at the University of Missouri–St. Louis for 3 years and associate director for 10 years. She is past president of the National Association of Economic Educators.
