Grischa Kahlen

Mr. Kahlen joined Solena in 2001 in the Prague office where he is responsible for the preparation of Solena projects in Central and Eastern Europe. Mr. Kahlen has 15 years experiences in energy cogeneration and renewable energy production from landfill gas. In the early nineties he founded the company PDI. PDI is in charge of using landfill gas from the two biggest landfills in Prague producing electricity and heat for the district and heating more than 5000 homes in the city of Prague. His company implemented similar projects not only in the Czech Republic, but also in neighboring countries. Before the fall of the socialist system in 1990 Mr. Kahlen wasn’t allowed to study in the country’s university due to political reasons. In those years he worked as a freelance interpreter. In the time of the so called “velvet revolution” in 1989 he was in the team of Mr. Vaclav Havel, the first president of the free Czech Republic, Mr. Kahlen was responsible for establishing contacts with Germany and was accompanying Mr. Vaclav to German speaking countries, as his interpreter. He now serves as CEO of Millennium Technologies.
