Stephen Barnes, Ph.D.

Dr. Stephen Barnes joined LAI from the department of economics at Louisiana State University, where he was a health research team leader. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Texas. Stephen is a labor economist whose research has focused on health care issues, such as the demand for medical care and insurance, the cost of overweight and obesity and inter-area price differentials in the U.S. Dr. Barnes was located in LAI’s Dallas office. He now works as a special consultant with LAI, after rejoining the faculty at LSU in the fall of 2009.
