Darin Brush

Executive Director, Utah State Office of Rehabilitation

Darin Brush was appointed as the Executive Director of the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation (USOR) in July 2015. Darin is passionate about the mission of USOR and has a deep commitment to the clients whom USOR serves.

Prior to accepting the position at USOR, Darin served for ten years as the Executive Director of Community Development Corporation of Utah (CDCU), a non-profit corporation with the mission to develop and preserve affordable housing, and revitalize distressed neighborhoods and communities throughout Utah. As the CDCU’s chief executive, Darin was responsible for programs that included new single- and multi-family home construction and rehabilitation, homebuyer education and counseling, and mortgage financing. Darin led CDCU through the period of its greatest expansion, and successfully obtained the prestigious Community Development Financial Institution certification from the US Treasury for CDCU.

Darin Brush is also an 11-year veteran of state government, and prior to joining CDCU was Deputy Director of the Utah Department of Workforce Services, one of the state’s largest agencies, responsible for an annual operating budget of $500 million and more than 2200 employees. In that role, Darin forged public and private partnerships to develop innovative solutions to meet Utah’s economic and workforce development needs. He has extensive experience working with federal agencies, administering large grants, and building consensus around meaningful, complex issues.

A native of northern California, Darin attended the University of Utah where he took three degrees including a Masters of History.

Darin serves on several non-profit boards of directors, teaches at Salt Lake Community College, and has consulted around the world on community and workforce development issues. He is passionate about gourmet cooking, the outdoors, and soccer. He, his wife Natalie, and their three children live in Salt Lake City.
