Tom L. Ward

Mr. Ward has served as the chairman and chief executive officer of SandRidge Energy since June 2006 and served as president from December 2006 to January 2011. Prior to joining SandRidge, he served as president, chief operating officer and a director of Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE: CHK) from the time he co-founded the company in 1989 until February 2006. From February 2006 until June 2006, Mr. Ward managed his private investments. Mr. Ward graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration in petroleum land management. He is a member of the board of trustees of Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana and of the Economic Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
