Stephen M. Liston

Following a 25-year career as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer, Steve Liston joined Equifax, a global information solutions provider, in 2015 as Vice President for Global Government Relations. With primary responsibility for the Americas, Steve devises and executes strategies for external stakeholder relations in Canada and 11 Latin American countries, working closely with local and corporate business, public relations, legal, and marketing units. He also provides guidance on government relations across Equifax’s Asia-Pacific and European operations.

As a diplomat, Steve served most recently in Santiago, Chile, where he was Deputy Chief of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires overseeing an embassy of 300 employees and managing an active bilateral relationship. Previous overseas assignments were in Spain, Brazil, Peru, Sudan, and Mexico. He also held a number of positions at the State Department in Washington, D.C., mostly related to the Americas.

Born and raised in California, Steve graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Political Economy and a minor in Spanish. He holds Master of Arts degrees in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University in Boston and in Religion from Reformed Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. In addition to his native English, Steve is fluent in Spanish and conversational in French and Portuguese. Steve and his wife Susan have three children.
