Peter Steiner is professor and acting undergraduate chair, department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, at the University of Pennsylvania. Before coming to Penn, Dr. Steiner taught at the University of Michigan and Harvard. His major areas of research are literary theory and modern Slavic literature and culture. Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, and immigrated to this country in 1968, he received his Ph.D. in Slavic Studies from Yale University.
