Manuel Somoza

Manuel Somoza is a seasoned executive in the brokerage, banking, wealth and asset management industry in Mexico, with over 50 years of experience.

In 1966 he started working for Banco Nacionalde Mexico, in which he held several positions until he was named CEO of Casa de Bolsa Banamex. In addi t ion, Mr. Somoza was CEO of Casa de Bolsa lnverlat, Grupo Financiero lnverMexico, and Banco Mexicano.

In 1986, he was appointed Chairman of the Mexican Stock Exchange.

In 2000, he was Chairman and CEO of Prudential Financial Operadora de Sociedades de Inversion, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Afore XXI; in 2006 he became Chairman  of  Prudential Bank.

In 2009, Mr. Somoza created Somoza Finamex lnversiones, the business was sold in July 2013 .

Mr. Somoza founded Cl Estrategias in a joint venture with Cl Banco; he has been the Chairman since 2014.

Mr. Somoza holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Universidad Anahuac, and an MBA from lnstituto Tecnolgico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey CDMX.
