Signature Event: Long Covid: Research, Policy and Economic Impact

The Global Interdependence Center, in partnership with the Solve Long Covid Initiative, is continuing our conference series exploring the pandemic’s long-term healthcare, policy, and economic impact, specifically the implications of long haul COVID or long COVID. Together, we invite you to join us for the signature event of this series, an in-person conference in New York City on Thursday, May 19, 2022.

The purpose of our conference is to raise awareness of Long Covid by examining the science and research behind it and we hope can join us through one of our registration options, including in-person or virtual attendance. For those joining us in person, we are delighted to provide a Patient Rest Area on site at the event. This quiet space will be a rest area for patients who need to step away for flare-up/sensory overload equipped with cots/chairs/blankets.

COVID-19 Protocols

Masks are mandatory. Registrants must be fully vaccinated and show proof of vaccination upon arrival. Please do not attend if you have any COVID or flu like symptoms.

 

The New York Athletic Club Dress Code

• Gentlemen – Jackets are optional in most areas. Slacks, a collared shirt and dress shoes are permitted. Shirts must be tucked in. Jackets are required in the Main Dining Room and Cocktail Lounge.
• Ladies – Permitted attire refers to business suits, tailored pant or skirt ensembles, and dresses. Spandex, open midriffs, halter tops, leggings, denim and extremely short hemlines (more than 3″ above the knee, as a guideline) are not permitted.
• Jeans, T-shirts, sneakers and flip-flops are prohibited. Attire with rips, frays or tears or that displays language, motifs or insignias that may be deemed offensive are not permitted.

About the David R. Kotok Global Healthcare Series

GIC launched the David R. Kotok Global Healthcare Series in 2020; a virtual program series focused on the roles health and healthcare policy play in the interdependent global community.  As a part of the series, the GIC has launched the “Analyzing Pandemics: Economic and Policy Impacts” executive briefings to explore the 100-year global pandemic event. Past briefings focused on the disease and the cure, COVID-19’s impact on food supply chains, artificial intelligence, climate change, and higher education.

In 2021, David Kotok and the Solve Long COVID Initiative offered a new gift to the GIC for funding, sponsorship, and logistical support for the Long COVID Program Series. The series serves as a neutral forum to elevate, vet, and share information about changing interdependencies caused by Long COVID’s impact on medical research, health care policy, fiscal policy, monetary policy, finance, trade, politics, and culture.

The Solve Long Covid Initiative represents a collection of new and expanded programs in research, advocacy, and education that will improve outcomes for the millions suffering from post-infection diseases. Based on more than 30 years of research and advocacy experience advancing the understanding of post-infection diseases, the Solve Long Covid Initiative takes a strategic approach to integrating pre-pandemic and post-pandemic knowledge and community insights. Our work in the post-infection disease space has allowed us to create connections and build partnerships with researchers, clinicians, patients, government, and industry leaders.
