Inaugural GIC Foundation Retreat

We’re pleased to invite you to the Inaugural GIC Foundation Retreat, hosted by David Kotok and the College of Central Bankers, in January 2027 at the stunning Caerula Mar Club on South Andros Island in The Bahamas.

This intimate, three-day/four-night experience is designed not only as an opportunity for meaningful dialogue and connection—but as a direct investment in the mission of the GIC Foundation.

This program is the first GIC Foundation Policy Retreat. Chaired by GIC Advisory Council Member, David Kotok and GIC Board Member, Bill Kennedy, it is held completely under Chatham House Rule, not a public conference. It will provide serious discussion with two scholars-in-residence and a small leadership and participant group.  Themes will include finance, debt deficit, payments, central banks issues, plus the war and defense elements.  The format is one single roundtable discussion each evening for an hour before dinner. Dinners will be at small tables of 4-6 to allow intimate discussion.

During the day, you’ll have the chance to fully disconnect and enjoy the natural beauty of the island through fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, or simply relaxing by the beach. Evenings will feature exceptional dining curated by a Michelin-starred chef.

Dates: Arrival on Wednesday, January 13, Departure: Sunday, January 17, 2027

Registration: $2,500 contribution to the GIC Foundation

Accommodations: Suites starting at the discounted rate of $607.50++ per night, per room (single or double occupancy). The resort has offered our group a promotion of staying three nights; the fourth night is complimentary.

Optional dining plan: $140/person/day or meals à la carte

Travel: The resort can assist with arrangements to Congo Town Airport (TZN) on South Andros Island, just a few minutes from the resort.

The GIC resort room block is limited to just 12 suites to preserve the quality and intimacy of the experience.
