Save the date! February 24-25, 2022 marks another year GIC will travel to Sarasota, Florida for a conference in partnership with Cumberland Advisors and the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee. The two day conference will explore social and corporate governance and environmental changes through panel sessions on investments, emerging markets, women in the workforce, ESG municipal bonds, climate change impacts, and more.

Dr. David E. Altig is executive vice president and director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. In addition to advising the Bank president on monetary policy and related matters, Dr. Altig oversees the Bank's regional executives and the Bank's research department.
Bob BuntingCEO, Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Center - CAC
Robert (Bob) Bunting is a scientist and serial entrepreneur, high technology start up expert and educator. He is CEO of the new Climate Adaptation & Mitigations Center, CAC, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to providing a curated data-base and situational analysis in four topical areas impacted by a warming climate. They are: seal level rise, Red Tide, hurricane changing characteristics, and human health.
Carlos CurbeloFormer Member of United States Congress serving the 26th District of Florida
Carlos Curbelo was born in Miami, Florida in 1980, to political refugees who fled tyranny and oppression Cuba. He was educated in the public school system and then at Belen Jesuit. From there he became a student at the University of Miami where he obtained a Bachelor's in Business Administration while majoring in Political Science. He later returned to UM for a Masters in Public Administration.

Alex Flint is the executive director of the Alliance for Market Solutions (AMS), an organization of conservative leaders addressing two of America’s most pressing challenges: the need to reduce carbon pollution and grow the economy. Recognized as one of Washington’s top lobbyists, he led the Nuclear Energy Institute’s advocacy program as the senior vice president of governmental affairs for a decade before joining AMS in May 2017.

Jill Fornito joined the Global Interdependence Center in 2008 as the assistant director with a broad scope of responsibilities including organizational and program management. In 2011, Jill assumed the role of director of operations, focusing mainly on the planning and execution of GIC’s domestic and international conferences. Jill was named the executive director in 2017 as she continues to oversee the daily operations of the GIC office, including development, financial administration, program coordination and communications. She is also the author of GIC’s Travel Blog.

Alison Gardner has enjoyed 35 years in the financial services industry. Before assuming the position at Embry-Riddle she worked as a higher education consultant and the Senior Advisor to the President at the University of South Florida, where she was, until recently, the Senior Vice President for Research and Innovation then Senior Vice President for Global Affairs and International Research.
