Register today! GIC invites you to join us at the Central Bank of Ireland on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, to explore Central Bank Digital Currency, digitalization policies, trade interdependencies, policy implications of climate change, and more. We will be joined for keynote remarks by Gabriel Makhlouf, the Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland and Loretta J. Mester, Ph.D., President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. Included with registration, GIC Members are invited to attend a Private Members’ Roundtable Discussion on Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Iveagh House at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Gabriel Makhlouf
Governor of the Central Bank of IrelandGabriel Makhlouf took up his position as Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland on 1 September 2019. He chairs the Central Bank Commission, is a member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank, a member of the European Systemic Risk Board, and is Ireland's Alternate Governor at the International Monetary Fund.

Loretta J. Mester, Ph.D.
President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of ClevelandLoretta J. Mester is president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. In that role, she participates in the formulation of U.S. monetary policy and oversees more than 1,000 employees based at the Bank’s Cleveland office and Branch offices in Cincinnati and Pittsburgh who conduct economic research, supervise banking institutions, promote community development, and provide payment services to depository institutions and the U.S. Treasury. Mester represents the Fourth District on the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC).

Patrick Honohan, Ph.D.
Former Governor of the Central Bank of IrelandPatrick Honohan was Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland and a member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank from September 2009 to November 2015. He is an honorary professor of economics at Trinity College Dublin and a nonresident senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics.

Francis Professor of Finance and Dean Emeritus Drexel’s LeBow College of BusinessDr. George Tsetsekos, serves as the Francis professor of Finance and Director of the Risk Management Center at the LeBow College of Business. He served as Dean of LeBow (2002-2012) and under his transformative leadership the college achieved national rankings and quality milestones in research and teaching.
