Syona Arora
Syona Arora joined the Global Interdependence Center in 2021 as the Manager of Operations. Prior to GIC, Syona worked as an operations manager in both the corporate and non-profit sectors, including the Franklin Institute, Pennsylvania’s premier science and education center. She has also lived across South and Southeast Asia where she worked to advocate for gender equality through UN sanctions. She brings a global perspective to her logistics and operations management style.
In 2020 and in the midst of a pandemic, Syona founded South Philadelphia Community Fridge. SPCF is a community-led effort providing food that people want to eat for anyone who needs it: take what you need, leave what you can.
Syona graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Bryn Mawr College, where her work focused on institutional and collective memory. She currently resides in Philadelphia.
