Colleen Murphy
Colleen Murphy began her role as Manager of Marketing and Communications at the Global Interdependence Center in May of 2017. Prior to GIC, Colleen’s previous roles in the communications field were at organizations Back on My Feet and the Independence Visitor Center Corporation (IVCC). While on the marketing team at the IVCC, Colleen gained insight into the tourism industry in Philadelphia and was able to perfect her marketing skills and strategies. In addition to her event management and digital marketing experience in the non-profit sector, Colleen has offered her public relations skills for onsite media relations at some of Philadelphia’s largest public events, such as Wawa Welcome America, the Philadelphia Marathon, and the 2017 NFL Draft.
Colleen is a Philadelphia native and received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. During the time of her college career, she studied business communication and English as a globalized language at Aarhus University in Aarhus, Denmark, to which she attributes her strong passion for global affairs and transnational communication.
