The Next Money Crash and How to Avoid It

Uli Kortsch
It is now more than six years since the beginning of the Great Recession and over one year since the Annual Monetary and Trade Conference, sponsored by the Global Interdependence Center and Drexel LeBow. The arguments presented in this book–a transcript of the proceedings at the aforementioned conference–still hold and perhaps are even more relevant as we see the lack of progress on multiple fronts. Economic matters appear to have entered the public consciousness to a greater degree, as the long term effects of choices made at the highest levels trickle through. People are aware of the fact that, yes, what they personally do is definitely relevant to their lives, but they are fish swimming in a moving river. Where is that river going? And who is making decisions as to the speed, direction and clarity of that river? There will always be those content to drift with minimal effort, but most of us want to see, understand and take action, at least action for our own lives and those of our children.
