Michael Drury

Michael Drury joined McVean Trading & Investments, LLC as Chief Economist in 1992, after serving for five years as Senior Economist with Allen Sinai at Shearson Lehman Brothers.  He began his career at A. Gary Shilling and Company in 1982.  He received his BS in Economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology and did graduate work (ABD) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Michael is the author of McVean Trading’s Weekly Economic Update.  He travels extensively in the US and globally. He is a Chair-Emeritus, and the current Vice-chair of Programs, for the Global Interdependence Center, a nonprofit in Philadelphia that fosters discussions vital to promoting a more integrated global community – especially through its College of Central Bankers, made up retired monetary policy leaders from around the world.

Michael has served on the Executive Board of the National Association for Business Economics.  He is a past President of the Economic Club of Memphis, was the founder and first President of the Mid-South Association for Business Economics (a NABE chapter), and is a member of the National Business Economic Issues Council (NBEIC).  He is a past member of AUBER and served on the Tennessee Economic Development Committee with now Senator William Hagerty.  Michael lives in Germantown, TN with his wife, Mahrou, and has three children and four grandchildren.
