Antti Suvanto

Head of General Secretariat, Bank of Finland

Antti Suvanto is Head of the General Secretariat of the Bank of Finland since March 1, 2010. His earlier positions at the Bank of Finland are Head of of the Monetary Policy and Research Department, Head of the Economics Department, Adviser to the Board, Head of Division at the Central Bank Policy Department. He joined the Bank of Finland in 1989.

His earlier full-time affiliations include Permanent Representation of Finland to the EU, Brussels (Financial Counsellor), Savings Bank Association (Chief Economist), OECD Secretariat (Economist), Research Institute of the Finnish Economy (Research Supervision), Yrjö Jahnsson Foundation (Director of Research) and University of Helsinki (Research Assistant). He is member of the board of the Yrjö Jahnsson Foundation and has been a member of the board of Government Economic Research Institute and The Research Institute of Finnish Economy. His Ph.D. dissertation on the microstructure of the foreign exchange market was approved in 1994.
