GIC is excited to partner with New College of Florida on the first of two events planned for 2012. The keynote speech will be given by Dennis Lockhart, President, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
The 14th president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Dennis P. Lockhart is an expert in global banking and commerce. His speech will examine the economic challenges facing the United States in 2012, including sluggish growth, stubbornly high unemployment, and the European debt crisis. Mr. Lockhart will also look at how monetary policy affects, and is affected by those factors. Prior to joining the Bank in 2007, he was on the faculty of Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service. Previous to that, was managing partner at the private equity firm of Zephyr Management, and held various positions, domestic and international, at Citicorp/Citibank.

Dennis Lockhart
Dennis P. Lockhart took office March 1, 2007, as the 14th president and chief executive officer of the Sixth District Federal Reserve Bank, at Atlanta. In 2011, he serves as an alternate voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee.
Mr. Lockhart was born in February 1947 in Bakersfield, California. He earned a B.A. in political science and economics from Stanford University in 1968 and an M.A. in international economics and American foreign policy from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in 1971. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1968 to 1974. Read more…
